REVIEW: Soap and Glory - Lid Stuff

Hey again everyone,

I appreciate that it was only a few hours ago that i did an eyeshadow review, but when i did that i swatched two different products so i could do one today and one tomorrow, however i am bored so i've decided to do the second review now. This is a review of Soap and Glory's 'Lid Stuff' priced at £10.

This is a neutral palette and i have the one called 'What's Nude' including 3 matt colours and one shimmer colour, with the colours (clockwise) Vanilla, Pink T, Aubersheen and Mudhoney.

I tend to use all of these colours plus another eyeshadow to create a smokey eye look. The white shade 'Vanilla' has been great to highlight the browbone and inner corner of my eye, as it is super pigmented which is great as i rarely find a white or cream shade which is pigmented enough to make a difference. I dont always use Pink T, but if i do i use it as a base colour which is normally not really noticeable when the look is complete.

I use mudhoney every single day, even when i'm not doing a look with this palette, because i find it is a colour which looks great on my eyebrows. Although i have black hair now instead of my natural brown colour, black eyebrows look hideous when drawn on so i still use brown for my eyebrows, and Mudhoney is the perfect colour for me. The only down side to this shade is that when my eyebrows accidentally go out of line, i cant seem to wipe it away and redraw it without using makeup remover to get the mistake off, which i suppose is good for an eyeshadow because it shows that it wont budge out of place through the day, but for doing my eyebrows it is annoying.

My favourite in the palette is Aubersheen, which isnt surprising for me as i love love LOVE shimmery and glittery eyes. Aubersheen is the perfect shimmery taupe / brown colour for my outer third and also looks amazing in the crease, but it is also the least pigmented of the four, as you will see in the swatches below.

labelled swatches of the eyeshadow quad.

The image makes Pink T look like the least pigmented, however this isnt the case, it just looks that way because its so close to a skin tone colour. As you can see in the image Aubersheen is the most sheer but through using it i have learnt that it is really buildable so its not too much of an issue. You can clearly see that all four of the shadows are really pigmented and really beautiful nudes.

The packaging is also very cute, and i always love soap and glory packaging because it all looks very 'jazzy'. Also, the palette itself is quite bulky, which i like but it wouldn't be good for travelling in my opinion.

I really do think that this palette is worth £10 because the colours all work well together so you could buy a whole eye look for a tenner, however i do like o use another shadow just to bolden it and brighten the look up as these are all brown and most of them are matt so i like to add something more to make my eyes POP!

What's your favourite eyeshadow palette? Xx
